Pupil Leadership

At Chapel of Garioch School, we believe that every learner can make a positive contribution to our school community. Through meaningful leadership opportunities, children develop confidence, responsibility, communication skills and a sense of ownership over their learning and the life of the school.

Our leadership groups provide learners with opportunities to influence decision-making, contribute to school improvement and develop the skills and attributes needed for learning, life and work.

Pupil Improvement Group

Our Pupil Improvement Group works alongside staff to support ongoing school improvement, with a particular focus on raising attainment in literacy.

Members gather the views of their peers, contribute ideas and help evaluate how improvements are making a difference to learning. Through this work, learners develop communication, collaboration and leadership skills while helping to shape positive outcomes for all pupils.

Inclusion Ambassadors

Our Inclusion Ambassadors promote a culture of belonging, respect and inclusion across the school.

Working closely with staff and learners, they help identify ways to strengthen inclusion and support positive outcomes for all children. Their work reflects our commitment to ensuring every learner feels valued, respected and able to participate fully in school life.

Play Makers

Our Play Makers support the development of learner agency, ownership of learning and skills development across the school.

Through leading activities, supporting younger learners and promoting meaningful opportunities for play and collaboration, Play Makers help create engaging learning experiences that encourage independence, confidence and creativity.

Through participation in leadership groups, learners have opportunities to develop:

Wider Achievement

We recognise and celebrate achievements both in and beyond school. Whether through leadership roles, sporting success, creative talents, community involvement or personal accomplishments, we encourage learners to share and celebrate their successes with others.
